Rémi Bonnet was already on skis at the tender age of 18 months. As a child, he played soccer, the same as many of his mates. As a junior competition skier, he began to garner successes as a sky runner. The region around Charmey, his native village, is well-known for its ski runs – and Rémi Bonnet is fascinated by ski touring. At barely 17 years of age, he completed his first successful competitions in ski mountaineering. Thereupon, SAC took notice, and he qualified for international ski-touring races. Rémi Bonnet garnered his first successes at the World Championships in Pelovoux in 2013. A year later he won, together with Baptiste Spicher and Thomas Corthay, the Patrouille des Glaciers from Arolla to Verbier. Once he had completed his apprenticeship as a metalworker, he bet everything on a career as a professional athlete. He was signed by Salomon and now, in summer, successfully works as a sky-runner and, in winter, as a ski-mountaineer.
